Getting a free logo design is something that can be done a number of different ways.
I will list a few easy ways that you can arrange to get a logo designed for free, or at the very least show you how to go about getting the software to design your own logo.
Firstly I would like to point out a simple fact – If you are able to pay a professional to design your logo – I highly suggest that you do so, you will save time, and time is money and you will get your logo produced in all the correct formats and standard sizes.
However I suspect that if you are reading this post it is because you actually searched for the term “free logo design” and that is what you are really wanting to do – get a free logo designed.
before I show you how to get this issue fixed I wanted to point out something that is obvious and you do know this already but I really just wanted to remind you to think about again.
While there are a lot of very clever logos that are out there, and I do agree that if you are planning to build a brand a clever and snazzy logo can do wonders for brand building, I would like to add this point…
Most of the visitors to your office, website, business card or letterhead will read your logo at a very quick glance – and if it is clear print ( perhaps in a nice and colorful font) then that is all you really need. Not only that your overall image is something that is far more important than you actual logo. The details that cover that need a complete book to explain – but you know what i am talking about.
Here are a few ways that you can go about getting a free logo design.
Paint - Yup! The free software. Go and download paint, and then go to you tube and follow the instructional videos that you will find there. I know that this is a very long way around the problem of doing a logo, but if you really want to learn how, then you have no other choice. Naturally it will take a very long time, but eventually you would have learned a new skill that you can apply to other aspects of your business.
Barter – Bartering is a fantastic way to do business, perhaps it is because I am such an informal business addict that I love this method of doing things. What you do is go and find the logo designer that can do the sort of work that you are expecting. Then you simply ask what you can do for them in return. This can seem a little daunting at first, but if you ask correctly and get the person to realize that you might have some skills that would help them – you are in business. I do this an unhealthy amount of times. I will sometimes work for a fee that seems ridiculously low, but for someone who can help me in a big way. For example if you had 5000 face-book fans on your face-book profile, I would do quite a lot for you for free if you liked a few of my pages or posts or whatever. Do you see the benefit. Or I would do your logo for you – free – if you wrote 5 x 500 word articles for me.
Get it as a bonus – This is not really free (like those adverts that tell you if you buy x then I will throw in Y and z for free) But at the very least you are getting something as a real bonus. For example if you used my affiliate link to get hosting and then paid for a year upfront, then I would design your logo for you for free. Unfortunately this would still have strings – for example it would still be a simple design – mostly text, but it would at the very least have a handful of varieties, and come in the correct sizes. You see to design a really complicated logo – where I allow you to have me change it a half a dozen times and then still invert the whole thing at the end – is going to set you back at least R5000 ($720) And you can expect to pay anything up to R20 000 easily. Now this is not because I like to overcharge, but because the longer you have been in business the more you realize that very little tasks ever are actually easy. The bigger they get the more spinning that is needed to be done to make it all happen properly.
So, back to how I can actually help you to get a basic logo for free.
Cheap, Ja – I am full of ideas there, outsourcing and a lot more, but for now that is it.
